Waters Insurance Agency is the founding entity of Fanta Insurance, Inc., which comprises Waters Insurance Agency, Landfried-Fanta Insurance Agency and Fleming Insurance Agency. Together, the three entities serve the Mid-Ohio Valley as well as customers throughout West Virginia and surrounding states.

Our History

The name Waters has a long-standing association with the area’s insurance industry, beginning with William Waters. In the 1940s, William served as vice president of Westfield Insurance Company, previously known as Ohio Farmers and a present-day leading carrier. In 1964, William’s son, Robert, founded Waters Insurance Agency in Parkersburg. In 1987, he sold the agency to his son-in-law, Ray Fanta, and daughter Elizabeth Fanta. Building on the success of WIA, the new owners grew the company through acquisitions in Ripley and St. Marys. The result was the formation of Fanta Insurance, Inc. and its family of companies. 

We feel Waters is also a fitting reminder of one of the many perils that we can help you protect against. The flow of water also represents the journey of life. Let us guide you through it.
